● Overview
Rusk Rehabilitation Center, a joint-venture of HealthSouth and the University of Missouri-Columbia is a comprehensive medical rehabilitation hospital in Columbia, Missouri that is accredited by The Joint Commission and is also a HealthSouth Stroke Rehabilitation Center of Excellence. Rusk Rehabilitation Center offers a wide range of specialized medical and therapeutic services designed to help physically disabled individuals reach their optimum level of functional independence. These programs include the latest advancements in rehabilitation technology, including HealthSouth's AutoAmbulator®. These innovative technologies help patients walk again, swallow more efficiently and regain concentration and balance. When used with a targeted therapy program, these innovations make remarkable strides in helping patients return to their normal lives. Rusk’s reputation of producing positive outcomes in a cost-effective manner has been proven consistently by independently conducted outcome studies. The studies conclude that Rusk’s functional outcomes met or exceeded national norms and were typically lower than other healthcare providers for length of stay and charges. Rusk’s internal case manager ensures these cost-effective outcomes by working closely with the patient, family, referring physician, insurance and other parties to make sure everyone remains informed about the patient’s care and progress.
