Functional Independence Measurement (FIM) gain is an indicator of patient improvement measured from the date of initial evaluation (day of admission) until discharge, and is the standard measurement for rehabilitation. FIM data is gathered by an independent organization (Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation) and is used as a benchmark to measure the gains patients make in a rehabilitation setting. Rusk Rehabilitation Center uses FIM change (gain) as a measurement of the progress our patients have made during the rehabilitation process. Once again in 2009, Rusk Rehabilitation Center's outcomes have exceeded national and regional averages in most categories. Rusk's team is very proud of our outcomes...not proud that we have scored better, but proud that our patient's have done better by us scoring better. The graph below shows Rusk's outcomes for all of 2009.
For question about Rusk's patient outcomes, please feel free to contact Karl Hardman, Director of Marketing Operations at (573)817-4614 or by e-mail: Karl.Hardman@Healthsouth.com
